Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Director of Social Media Strategy and Operations to lead enterprise governance, strategy, and operations for social media and digital communications. Remote-friendly role with collaboration across UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare, Optum and partners.

Responsibilities include governance, tool management, stakeholder alignment, and leading cross-functional initiatives to drive adoption, policies, and training across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in social media or digital marketing.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide social media governance programs, policies, and procedures.
• Experience managing social media technology platforms, tools, and vendor relationships.
• Experience driving organizational change management and process adoption initiatives.
• Experience developing training, communication, and engagement programs to increase adoption of tools, processes, and policies.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, RFPs, and vendor selection processes in a matrixed environment.
• Deep social media platform knowledge, content creation, discovery, and process development.

Responsibilities

• Support social media governance and optimize across the organization.
• Identify gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and output.
• Update policies with stakeholders and create distribution plans for engagement.
• Coordinate with employee comms and training teams on updates and adoption plans.
• Manage social media and digital comms tools, including budgeting and procurement.
• Lead RFP processes with procurement and vendors to select tools within budget.
• Develop relationships with Customer Success Managers and stay aligned with product pipelines.
• Conduct regular account hygiene checks for organic and paid channels and tool security.
• Ensure chargebacks and budgets are balanced with finance stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
