Responsibilities

  • Format documents in accordance with relevant style guides and journal specifications.
  • Ensure consistency in citations, references, tables, figures, equations, abbreviations, terminology, and structure.
  • Review manuscripts for formatting, presentation, and document-level inconsistencies.
  • Enhance and refine author-facing comments for clarity and professionalism.
  • Perform detailed quality checks to deliver publication-ready manuscripts.
  • Verify adherence to internal editorial standards and client-specific requirements.
  • Identify inconsistencies, missing elements, or formatting issues affecting quality.
  • Support process improvements by documenting recurring issues for the editorial team.
  • Work across manuscripts from diverse subject areas while maintaining turnaround expectations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role : Editorial Assistant. Job location : Goregaon (West), Mumbai. Department : Editing. Shift time : Rotational shift from 7 am to 11 pm (Any 9 hours within this window). Working days : 5-day week with rotational week offs.

You will gain valuable exposure to the scholarly publishing ecosystem, collaborate with researchers from around the world, and work in a multicultural environment with authors from countries including Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Brazil, and Turkey. The manuscripts you handle may span a wide range of disciplines, including Medicine, Biosciences, Humanities, Economics, Business, Physical Sciences and Engineering.

You will play a key role in supporting the editorial process by enhancing document presentation, strengthening author communication, and ensuring that manuscripts align with journal and publisher requirements. We are seeking Editorial Assistants with strong attention to detail and excellent language skills to work on scholarly manuscripts across a range of disciplines. The role involves reviewing academic documents for consistency, formatting, and presentation to ensure they meet international publication standards.

As an Editorial Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are well-structured, consistently formatted, and publication-ready. You will support Academic Editors by enhancing author-facing communication, performing detailed quality checks, and ensuring compliance with style guide and journal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Format documents in accordance with relevant style guides, publisher requirements, and journal specifications.
  • Ensure consistency in citations, references, tables, figures, equations, abbreviations, terminology, and document structure.
  • Review manuscripts for formatting, presentation, and document-level inconsistencies.
  • Enhance and refine author-facing comments to ensure clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness of communication.
  • Perform detailed quality checks to deliver publication-ready manuscripts.
  • Verify adherence to internal editorial standards and client-specific requirements.
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies, missing elements, or formatting issues that may affect manuscript quality.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by documenting recurring issues and sharing feedback with the editorial team.
  • Work across manuscripts from diverse subject areas while maintaining quality, consistency, and turnaround expectations.
