Job summary

Meta is seeking a Production Systems Engineer for the Edge Hardware team in Menlo Park to own defined areas and expand scope with ramp-up. You will work on the Edge compute fleet, contributing to NPI and sustaining efforts across multiple platforms and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in hardware ops, strong troubleshooting, and automation skills in Python/Go, with experience in edge, CDN, or distributed infrastructure and cross-time-zone collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/EE or related field.
• 2+ years in production systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, network operations, or hardware operations.
• 2+ years developing automation or tooling in Python, Go, or similar for infrastructure or hardware management.
• Experience with server or network hardware components and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Experience with configuration/fleet management in large-scale data centers, edge, or cloud environments.
• Experience working across time zones with cross-functional partners.
• Background in Edge, CDN, or distributed infrastructure; experience with OEM vendors (e.g., HPE, Dell).
• Familiarity with large-scale data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute on Edge Hardware across New Product Introduction and Sustaining work.
• Qualify new server generations and sustain existing ones for 3–5 years in deployment.
• Build failure detection and remediation; port validation to new vendor hardware; reduce noisy checks.
• Requalify components reaching end of sale to unblock procurement of Edge servers.
• Improve fleet visibility by surfacing latent or missed failures.
• Support firmware qualification cadence for NIC, BIOS, BMC, and related components.
• Support multi-vendor enablement and rebuild provisioning and validation assumptions.
