Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. You will analyze server data, develop automation tooling, and drive fleet health improvements at hyperscale.

Qualifications

• Six or more years in production systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles in large-scale hardware.
• Experience with hardware lifecycle, fleet automation, or DC operations spanning compute, storage, or networking.
• Proven ability to develop systems software or automation tooling for Linux-based production environments at scale.
• Experience configuring production systems including web servers, load balancers, databases, storage, and messaging systems.
• Strong written communication to document designs and align stakeholders across engineering and operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the server fleet to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and automation tooling for production servers.
• Own tooling requirements enabling frontline operations to manage and repair fleet.
• Drive escalation to resolve complex tooling and hardware issues affecting fleet health.
• Collaborate with cross-functional tooling teams to influence roadmaps and operations.
• Perform deep data analysis to prioritize automation opportunities in a large heterogeneous environment.
• Mentor engineers on fleet issues and tooling improvements, traveling up to 25% for global deployments.
