Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join the team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The ED Tech will support nurses and physicians, monitor patients, and perform clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, documentation in the EMR, and contributing to safe, efficient ED operations during night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with 12-hour shifts and every-other Friday/Saturday schedules.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET is required.
• BLS certification is preferred/required.
• Phlebotomy knowledge or training is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care and monitor vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as directed.
• Assist nurses and providers with procedures and emergencies within scope.
• Document care, observations, and testing in the EMR accurately.
• Support ED operations and patient safety with the health team.
