Job summary

Baystate Health is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The ED Tech supports nurses and physicians, performs phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, and documents care in the EMR. The role requires patient-centered care, clear communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced ED.

The position is full-time, 36 hours weekly, with 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am) and alternating weekends/holidays, located at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtained.
• Phlebotomy or related clinical skills advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care and monitor vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
• Assist RNs and providers with exams, procedures, and emergencies.
• Document care, treatments and tests in the EMR.
• Maintain a safe, clean ED environment and support workflow.
