Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking an ED Technician for the Emergency Services department in the Brighton location. The role supports RN staff, handles patient care tasks, telemetry, and basic diagnostics. The schedule is 36 hours with permanent night shifts and every other weekend.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, with Nursing Aide Certification preferred and BLS from the American Heart Association expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year related technical job experience.
• Nursing Aide Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and assist with physical care and environmental support under the RN.
• Monitor oxygen saturation and apply oxygen therapy as directed.
• Record vital signs and notify RN of abnormal values.
• Assist with telemetry leads, electrode placement, and 12-lead ECGs as directed.
• Transport patients, equipment and supplies within the department.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies in the unit.
• Document activities in the ED flowsheet and protect patient confidentiality.
