Job summary

Community First Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for a part-time night shift (7pm–7am) with variable weekend days. Under RN supervision, you will perform direct patient care, assist with treatments, monitor patient status, transport patients, and help maintain a safe, clean ED environment.

CNAs, PCTs, or EMT-Bs encouraged to apply. Must have a HS diploma or GED; prior fast-paced healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have HS degree or G.E.D.
• Must be a CNA, PCT, or EMT-B
• Prefer one year of work experience in a fast paced healthcare environment
• Must be a team player, excellent customer satisfaction skills, energetic and able to multi-task
• Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, as directed by RN
• Assists RN in completing therapeutic treatments and communicates patient’s response to treatment
• Surveys for significant findings regarding patient safety, personal needs and changes in patient’s condition
• Promotes and maintains an atmosphere for patient comfort; keeps patient’s room clean and orderly
• Identifies patient/family education needs and reports them to the RN
• Transports patients to and from the Emergency Department utilizing wheelchair or stretcher
• Stable patients requiring telemetry monitoring will be placed on remote telemetry for transport
• Assists in stocking unit, maintaining equipment and ordering supplies
• Assists in cleaning and preparing rooms after a patient has been dispositioned and removing used supplies
• Participates in Emergency Preparedness requirements and responses; maintains HazMat competency
• Answers all phone calls promptly, courteously and efficiently in accordance with policy
