Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Technician for our Level 1 Trauma Center in New Hampshire. The FT role involves rotating 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts across all seven days, assisting RNs, performing ADLs, and supporting a fast-paced ED team.

You will help monitor patients, manage electronic medical records, restock supplies, and coordinate patient flow while upholding safety and excellent communication in a chaotic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a chaotic, multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs, record vital signs, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
• Apply splints and immobilizers, manage IVs after competency.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and restock supplies.
• Assist visitors, volunteers, and patient family/friends.
• Mentor new coworkers on the unit.
• Monitor and care for patients at risk (suicidal/elopement/ restraints).
• Perform clerical duties (phones, faxes, communications) and prioritize during high-stress periods.
• Manage patient health information and electronic medical records.
