Job summary

Dartmouth Health seeks an Emergency Department Technician to deliver patient care and operational support in the ED under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. The role emphasizes effective communication within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and documenting results in the electronic medical record per hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in an acute hospital setting, ambulance services or ambulatory care preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• 12-lead EKG experience preferred.
• MOAB training required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under RN supervision, including ADLs and vital signs collection.
• Obtain clinical data such as vital signs and EKGs; record results in the medical record.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing following universal precautions.
