Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide patient care and operational support in a high-volume ED. You will work a rotating day/night schedule across all seven days, under RN supervision, performing ADLs, vital signs, EKGs, and data collection, while maintaining a safe, efficient environment.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork in a fast-paced setting, and the ability to multitask and manage information in the EMR system.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a chaotic environment.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care activities under RN supervision, including ADLs, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and record-keeping.
• Applies splints and immobilizers; removes IVs after competencies.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment; restocks rooms and equipment.
• Assists visitors and volunteers; mentors new staff.
• Monitors patients requiring close observation and manages high-stress communication.
• Performs clerical tasks and prioritizes tasks in high-stress periods.
• Manages patient health information and EMR; handles other duties as assigned.
