Job summary

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital seeks a Coordinator Patient Flow for the Emergency Department, nights (7pm–7am). The role leads staffing, patient flow, and services in a busy ED, coordinating with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure safe, timely patient care and efficient throughput.

The position requires an RN with 3+ years of ED experience, ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications, and strong leadership abilities to manage patient flow and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 3 years of nursing practice in ED or related setting
• Experience leading or coordinating patient flow or staff in a fast-paced department
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Rounding in the ED triage, waiting areas, and patient rooms to oversee flow.
• Coordinate patient placement and department workflow to maximize throughput.
• Provide leadership and prioritization in ED operations and liaise with providers and staff.
• Monitor ED throughput boards and communicate performance feedback to the team.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies in patient flow.
• Participate in process improvement projects and policy development related to throughput.
