Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a Part Time Patient Representative for the BMH Emergency Department. You will greet and register patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and schedule appointments while maintaining high accuracy and confidentiality.

Ideal candidates have prior customer service experience, familiarity with medical terminology, and basic computer skills. The role includes weekend standby rotations and emphasizes efficient, compassionate patient interaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Basic typing at 45 WPM, basic ten key, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, insurance payer regulations, and patient rights.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle components and its impact on the process.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients accurately and efficiently.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using online systems.
• Collects and enters payments and balances procedures.
• Schedules and communicates appointment information for multiple facilities.
• Verifies insurance for scheduled and urgent patients following payer guidelines and obtains authorization.
• Documents physician orders and scans/indexes forms.
