Ideal candidates will have high school diploma or GED, prior customer service experience, and familiarity with HIPAA and coding basics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Basic typing at 45 WPM, basic ten key, and computer skills within a Windows environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, insurance payer regulations and requirements, and patient rights.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients
• Verify insurance eligibility using online systems
• Provide and complete required patient forms
• Collect and enter payments and balance as required
• Schedule and communicate appointment information for multiple facilities
• Verify insurance for scheduled/urgent patients and obtain authorization as needed
• Maintain confidentiality in all communications
• Identify financial counseling needs
• Assist in patient flow and revenue cycle processes
