Job summary

Intermountain Health's Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool Registered Nurse. This role floats to ED and other acute care areas to support staffing and patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN, have at least one year of RN experience, and current BLS certification. The position offers full-time hours (36/week) with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; compact licenses must transfer within 60 days.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is Required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
