Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RN to join our fast-paced team. You will float to ED and other acute care areas to support staffing and patient care.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, teamwork, and evidence-based practice, with 36 hours weekly and both day and night options. A BSN, RN license, BLS, and ED/trauma experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is Required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months must obtain BSN within four years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care in fast-paced emergency settings.
• Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate interventions.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition quickly.
• Collaborate with physicians, AP providers, and teams.
• Provide care to a wide range of illnesses and injuries.
• Administer medications and procedures per policies.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge plans.
• Adapt to varying workflows, volumes, and acuity levels.
• Support teamwork and continuous improvement.
