Job summary

Sweeny Community Hospital is seeking a Director of the Emergency Department to provide leadership and accountability for the ED. The role includes 24/7 management oversight, staff development, and advancing evidence-based leadership practices to promote a patient/family centered environment.

Key responsibilities include establishing policies with the medical director, managing the department budget, and participating in multiple committees to enhance care delivery and quality assurance in the ED.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing.
• Current, active Texas RN license.
• TNCC, ACLS, BLS and ATCN certifications.
• 3 years clinical experience in emergency care.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Emergency Department, including 24/7 management accountability.
• Supervise and evaluate ED Team Members, including merit, promotions, and discipline as applicable.
• Develop and manage the department budget; justify equipment and supply needs.
• Coordinate with medical director and administration to implement policies and protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance and hospital-wide committees; ensure ED compliance with regulations.
