Job summary

Sweeny Community Hospital is seeking a Director of the Medical Surgical Department (Med Surg) and IMU to lead professional nursing care, drive 24/7 management accountability, and promote evidence-based leadership practices. This role focuses on patient-centered care, staff development, and operational excellence in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The Director will manage budgets, ensure policy compliance, and participate in organization-wide committees, while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in Texas required.
• Minimum of 3 years Med Surg/IMU nursing experience and/or managerial experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and budget management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for Med Surg/IMU units and ensure nursing care delivery.
• Develop and manage department budget and operating policies.
• Direct day-to-day unit operations and staffing; supervise staff performance.
• Promote patient/family centered care and evidence-based leadership practices.
