Job summary

CDM Smith is hiring an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local levels for CDM Smith’s projects.

You will assist with risk assessments, develop QAPPs/SAPs, and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement project approaches. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field with certification or Master’s in Science.
• 7 years of related experience in environmental consulting or regulation.
• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally as needed.
• Equivalent additional related experience may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and HS/ER risk assessments.
• Contributes to data quality objectives, QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Assists in planning exposure models and HS/HRAs/BERAs.
• Collaborates with scientists, engineers, toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provides technical evaluation of documents and client-facing meetings.
• Mentors junior staff and supports sales in RFP responses.
• Develops white papers on emerging environmental issues.
• Presents at conferences to raise visibility of the firm’s services.
