Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States seeks an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within our Environmental Services Group. You will assist with regulatory compliance efforts for federal, state, and local environmental projects.

This role involves collaboration with engineers, toxicologists, and scientists to develop risk assessments, DSQOs, QAPPs, SAPs, and exposure models, and to provide guidance to junior staff and support client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field with professional scientist registration or certification, or a Master's degree.
• Minimum 7 years of related environmental consulting experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and analysis for human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Develop data quality objectives, QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Prepare conceptual site exposure models and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement project approaches.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff.
• Assist with client meetings and proposal support.
• Draft white papers on emerging environmental issues.
• Present at conferences to raise visibility of firm’s services.
