Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group in the United States. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental projects across the portfolio.

The candidate will assist with HHRAs, ERAs, DQOs, QAPPs, SAPs, and exposure models, collaborating with scientists and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline; professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and analysis/interpretation of site data for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Develops data quality objectives (DQOs), QA/QC plans (QAPPs), and sampling and analysis plans (SAPs).
• Prepares conceptual site exposure models (CSEMs) and HHRAs, SLERAs and BERAs.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches and implementation.
• Provides technical evaluation of project documents and supports client meetings.
• Mentors junior staff and supports sales/proposals with input for RFPs.
• Contributes to technical knowledge with white papers on emerging environmental issues.
• Presents at conferences to raise visibility of firm’s products and services.
