Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 college credit hours required.
• WorkKeys and 96 hours of in-service training required.
• Completion of NC Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums.
• Enforce policies and rules governing students.
• Coordinate duties with the classroom teacher to support instruction.
• Provide assistance to students in self-care and classroom activities.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays for assigned classrooms.
• Assist with attendance procedures and record keeping.
