Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students under supervision. You will assist with IEP goals, supervise students, and help deliver instruction in general education settings under teachers' guidance.

The role involves preparing materials, monitoring behavior, and aiding transportation and daily routines. Candidates should have one of several education options and a willingness to collaborate with staff and families.

Qualifications

• At least one of the following education options is required.
• One year working with EC children preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Pass a formal assessment (WorkKeys) and/or 96 hours of in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums.
• Collect data to document progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare lesson materials and displays for the classroom.
• Assist with transportation duties and routine school tasks.
• Provide physical assistance to students as needed.
