Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant (PNA) to support EC students and assist teachers with IEP goals. The role involves supervision, materials prep, and classroom support across multiple settings within CMS premises.

The position is a full-time, 09-month role with 40 hours per week, requiring an evening to morning shift as needed and travel within the district for meetings. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of: Associate's degree, two years of higher education, pass WorkKeys and 96 hours in-service, or completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program.
• One year experience with EC children preferred.
• Willingness to travel to district buildings and meetings if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist EC students individually or in small groups.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and gymnasiums.
• Support teachers in implementing IEP goals and instructional plans.
• Prepare classroom materials and displays.
• Assist with attendance, records, and learning spaces.
