Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC seeks an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant for the Extended Program. This 9-month, 40 hours per week position supports EC students and assists the lead teacher in implementing IEP goals and facilitating access to general education when needed.

Responsibilities include supervising students, preparing materials, and supporting daily instructional activity, bus and field-trip duties, and data collection for progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits required or completion of WorkKeys/WBL training.
• Completion of NC Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program preferred.
• One year working with EC children preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned teacher and EC students to achieve IEP goals.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Prepare lesson materials and support instructional delivery under supervision.
• Conduct attendance, data collection, and progress documentation as directed.
