Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant/Extensions to support EC students and assist teachers in delivering IEP-based instruction. The role is full-time, 09 months, 40 hours per week, with duties across classrooms and related spaces.

Starting date is immediate. The position requires collaboration with the principal, adherence to policies, and active participation in daily instructional and transportation duties as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one of: Associate's degree, 48 college credits, WorkKeys plus in-service hours, or DOL TA Apprenticeship.
• One year experience with EC children preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist EC students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Coordinate instructional efforts with the classroom teacher.
• Provide physical assistance and monitor student safety as needed.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with attendance procedures and record keeping.
