Job summary

TMSA Public Charter Schools in Cary, NC is seeking an EC Support Assistant to help create and maintain an effective learning environment for students with special needs. You will assist in implementing IEPs and 504 Plans, accommodations, and direct support under certified staff guidance.

Requirements include a high school diploma, some college coursework in related fields, and a patient, empathetic approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, teachers, and families.
• Basic knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and related special education laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and maintaining an effective learning environment for students with special needs.
• Support implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans and classroom accommodations.
• Provide direct support to exceptional students under supervision of certified staff.
• Assist with data collection and analysis for program improvement.
• Participate as part of Instructional Design and Innovation team and EC compliance audits.
