Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Extensions Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students under close supervision. The aide helps students access general education and work toward IEP goals, assisting the teacher and coordinating instructional activities.

Responsibilities include small-group and one-on-one instruction, supervision in hallways and lunch areas, preparing materials, recording progress, assisting with seating and daily routines, and helping with emergency

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher is preferred
• Two years of college coursework or higher
• Completion of NC TA Apprenticeship Program or equivalent training

Responsibilities

• Help EC students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and common areas
• Prepare lesson materials and assist with progress data toward IEP goals
• Assist with attendance, record-keeping, and classroom routines
• Provide physical assistance as needed during activities and transitions
