Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, teachers, and families.
• Basic knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Support classroom accommodations and direct support to exceptional students.
• Interpret testing data to aid instructional decisions.
• Assist in developing and delivering annual goals and short-term objectives.
• Ensure EC procedures and compliance with NC policies.
