Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students under the guidance of a certified teacher. The role involves assisting with instruction, supervising students, and ensuring adherence to IEP goals and school policies.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, collecting progress data, and assisting with attendance and classroom organization. The position is full-time, 9 months, with a starting date of immediate availability.

Formación

• Requires knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations for EC programs.
• Ability to use assistive communication methods and devices for various disabilities.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and progress documentation.
• Respect for confidentiality and data handling in schools.
• Must be able to supervise students in multiple settings and transitions.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the lead teacher and support EC students in small groups or one-on-one.
• Supervise students in classrooms, corridors, cafeteria, yard, and gym.
• Support instruction and reinforce concepts as directed by teachers.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare materials and organize classroom spaces for instructional activities.
• Assist with attendance procedures and testing as directed by the teacher.
