Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 credit hours required/preferred.
• WorkKeys and 96 hours of in-service training may be required.
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program preferred.
• One year of experience working with EC students preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Coordinate with teachers to support instruction and IEP goals.
• Collect data to document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Present subject matter under teacher guidance using various delivery methods.
• Assist with materials, testing, and classroom organization.
• Support attendance procedures and record-keeping.
