Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support an assigned EC classroom. The aide helps students master assignments, reinforces learning concepts, and monitors activities under the guidance of the teacher.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, adherence to policies, and providing hands-on support for IEP goals. Successful candidates will have an associate degree or equivalent and strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Adhere to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and common areas.
• Assist in enforcing school rules and guidelines.
• Coordinate with the classroom teacher on instructional tasks.
• Provide physical assistance and supervision as needed.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Present subject matter under teacher direction using various methods.
• Assist with materials, portfolios, and testing as directed by teachers.
• Support attendance procedures, record-keeping, and classroom organization.
• Prepare lesson materials and displays for the classroom.
• Assist during bus, car, and van transportation duties.
• Participate in drills, field trips, and school events as required.
• Assist with self-care tasks and basic student needs.
• Support therapists and teachers in therapy-related tasks.
• Provide notes and assist with assignments when needed.
• Help students with mobility and positioning as required.
• Participate in professional development and other meetings.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
