Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH Company, seeks an Area Operations Manager to lead asphalt plant operations across East Texas. You will drive safety, efficiency, and profitability while developing strong teams and coordinating with sales, construction, and customers.

The role requires 10+ years in asphalt or related fields, with leadership experience and a track record of operational excellence. A Bachelor’s degree and strong Microsoft Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years of experience in asphalt operations, heavy civil construction, aggregates, or related field.
• Proven leadership overseeing production operations and field crews.
• Experience managing asphalt paving, roadway construction, or heavy civil projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of multiple asphalt plants across East Texas.
• Foster a strong safety culture where every employee goes home safely each day.
• Coach, mentor, and develop plant managers and operational teams.
• Drive production efficiency, equipment reliability, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage maintenance programs to maximize plant uptime and performance.
• Lead capital improvement initiatives and support major investment projects.
• Monitor operating costs, budgets, and identify profitability opportunities.
• Oversee inventory management, procurement planning, and supply chain coordination.
• Ensure environmental compliance and adherence to policies and standards.
• Collaborate with construction operations to align schedules with paving activities.
