Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Central Kitchen Assistant 2 to support food preparation across bakery, salad, cooking and production stations. You will assemble meals safely and in compliance with NSLP regulations and health guidelines.

The role involves assisting with meal counts, operating the POS when needed, and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment in our district facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Past experience in food service operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic computer applications preferred.
• National School Lunch Program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of food preparation in many departments of the kitchen in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.
• Clean and maintain general orderliness during and/or after production.
• Load the correct amount of food into serving units as ordered and per scheduled times/events.
• Provide back-up to receive lunch counts from schools and assist with filling orders as requested.
• Operate Point of Sale System as needed.
• Fill special meals orders as required.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area and coffee room for all employees.
• Work in schools as needed to serve meals and perform supporting meal activities.
