Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Laurel, MS to support receiving operations. You will verify shipments, record transactions, and coordinate with purchasing to resolve discrepancies, ensuring inventory accuracy and timely put-away.

The role requires attention to detail, physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, and familiarity with WMS and basic computer tools. This is a full-time on-site position with steady morning hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior receiving, warehouse, or fulfillment experience preferred.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and standard computer tools (Excel, email) preferred.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for extended periods.
• Able to complete pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound freight safely and inspect shipments for damage, shortage, or error.
• Verify received product against packing slip and purchase order before entering inventory.
• Record receiving transactions in the warehouse management system.
• Coordinate with purchasing on receiving discrepancies for resolution.
• Prioritize time-critical and backordered inbound freight to keep orders moving.
