Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Warehouse Associate – Receiving to ensure inbound shipments are verified against packing slips and POs, and to enter transactions accurately into the warehouse system.

The role focuses on accuracy at the receiving dock, coordinating with purchasing, and ensuring timely put-away to maintain inventory integrity and reliable fill rates for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in receiving, warehouse, or fulfillment is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Experience with warehouse management systems and basic computer tools (Excel, email) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound freight safely and inspect shipments for damage, shortage, or error at delivery.
• Verify received product against packing slip and PO before entering inventory; resolve discrepancies.
• Record receiving transactions in the warehouse management system accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with purchasing on discrepancies to resolve issues.
• Put received product away accurately to the correct bin locations so it is pickable the same shift.
