Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Warehouse Associate – Receiving Department to verify incoming shipments, document discrepancies, and place goods into correct bin locations. You will work closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Shipping to ensure accuracy and on-time fulfillment.

Ideal candidates have prior receiving experience, are comfortable with warehouse software, and can lift up to 60 lbs. A forklift or pallet jack certification is required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or in progress.
• Prior receiving, warehouse, or fulfillment experience preferred.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and standard computer tools (Excel, email) preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound freight and inspect shipments for damage, shortage, or error.
• Verify received products against packing slips and purchase orders before entry into inventory.
• Record receiving transactions in the warehouse management system accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with Purchasing on discrepancies and with Shipping on priority freight.
• Put away received products to correct bin locations and maintain inventory integrity.
• Document all discrepancies (OS&D) and communicate root-cause findings to leadership.
• Maintain organized receiving areas and operate equipment safely.
• Contribute to process improvements in receiving and put-away workflows.
