Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist for the Atrium Health Cleveland - Lab in North Carolina. The role requires collecting patient blood samples by venipuncture and capillary puncture, processing nonblood specimens, and handling specimen preparation and transport.

The position is full-time with a 3:00am–11:30am shift, Monday through Friday, supporting patient care areas with accurate lab reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Phlebotomy certification preferred where duties include phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform minor tests and proper specimen handling.
• Familiarity with lab information systems and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient blood via venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Performs nonblood specimen processing and specimen preparation/transport.
• Maintains documentation for tests and labeling per standards.
• Performs phlebotomy following established procedures with aseptic technique.
• Receives lab orders and informs clinical staff of abnormal results.
• Trains new team members and students on standard work processes.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and a clean work area.
