Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Part-time Lab Technician for Carolinas Medical Center - Lab: Central Processing. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen processing, and patient registration with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

You will train new team members, maintain documentation, and follow OSHA and safety guidelines while handling specimens and performing routine tests in chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis. This is a 24-hour-per-week, first-shift position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred where allowed.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy via venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Process nonblood specimens timely and accurately.
• Assist in specimen preparation, receipt and transport.
• Register patient information and maintain documentation.
• Provide courteous phone support to patient care areas.
• Ensure competency with lab information systems and safety protocols.
• Train new staff and students on standard work processes.
