Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers, supporting loading and unloading operations.

Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with a morning shift 0400–0900. Candidates should have basic math, good communication, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Prior warehousing or forklift experience is preferred; training is available and safety rules govern all duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform repeated lifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck for freight handling.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, ropes.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
