Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading and unloading to trailers. The role requires operating forklifts and hand trucks, verifying freight docs, and ensuring secure stowage inside trailers.

The position offers hourly pay starting at $21.16 per hour with opportunities up to $24.75, along with benefits. Candidates should be at least 18 and have warehouse or forklift experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Warehousing/forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry up to ~100 pounds and handle dock equipment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation matches description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required reports and documentation.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
