Job summary

Save the Children in Newbern, Tennessee seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized and group lessons for infants and toddlers, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Two teachers collaborate in each classroom with support from aides and volunteers.

You will partner with a co-Teacher to manage day-to-day operations, ensure regulatory compliance, build strong family relationships, maintain records, and engage in professional development.

Qualifications

• Must have professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams to provide high-quality services to children and families.
• Proven ability to follow directions and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and activities.
• Guide daily classroom activities and field trips with a co-Teacher.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality.
• Plan conferences and home visits to inform parents about child progress.
• Ensure safety and a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Engage families and support professional development.
