Job summary

Save the Children in Kannapolis, NC is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans for infants and toddlers, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth under the supervision of a Center Director or Education & Inclusion Manager.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in child development or early childhood education with coursework equivalent to a major related to ECE.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse teams and families.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of the purpose of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.
• Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding children.
• Willingness to participate in required trainings including basic first aid and pediatric CPR.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans for infants and toddlers.
• Lead activities and field trips with co-Teacher and assistance from aides/volunteers.
• Create a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Conduct conferences and home visits to inform families about progress.
• Maintain accurate records and portfolios; ensure confidentiality.
• Collaborate with program staff and volunteers to build skills.
• Ensure children’s safety through active supervision and healthy routines.
