Job summary

Save the Children US in Kannapolis, NC seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans for infants and toddlers, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in alignment with Head Start standards.

You will co-teach with a co-Teacher, partner with families, and ensure compliance with federal/state requirements while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established directions and take initiative.
• Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start program purpose.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and activities for infants and toddlers.
• Guide and facilitate daily classroom activities and field trips.
• Set up equipment and materials for a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Provide responsive caregiving and integrate routines into a flexible schedule.
• Plan conferences and home visits to inform families about progress and learning.
• Maintain accurate records, both on paper and in online systems; ensure confidentiality.
• Document observations, assessments, and portfolios for each child.
• Collaborate with Program Aides and Volunteers to support classroom activities.
• Ensure active supervision and safety during all activities.
• Engage parents in education through classroom involvement and home activities.
