Job summary

AZEarlyHeadStart's Learning Care program is seeking a Lead Teacher who will plan, assess, and instruct based on each child's needs and the Head Start requirements. You will create fun, interactive learning experiences, mentor fellow teachers, manage the classroom, and build strong relationships with enrolled families to support the center's success.

We value energetic, dependable educators who are 18+, with a degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA, and the ability to work indoors or outdoors

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or CDA in Infant/Toddler.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• Ability to meet state requirements for education and our childcare center requirements.
• Must be able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging, interactive learning experiences while mentoring fellow teachers.
• Care for preschool children and promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Call the shots—lead classroom management and curriculum implementation, adhere to licensing guidelines and Head Start requirements.
• Communicate with enrolled and prospective families to promote achievement and center success.

Arizona Early Head Start provides early education for children birth to 3-years-old, parent involvement and family support, and comprehensive health and nutrition education for children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of planning, assessing and instructing based on the needs of each child, and the requirements of the program. As a Lead Teacher, you’ll:
