Job summary

Save the Children is seeking an Early Childhood and Development Coach in North Carolina to work with the Manager, Education and Inclusion. You will implement research-based curriculum, provide training and technical assistance to Head Start staff and monitor progress to meet program objectives.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, collaboration with program leadership and continuous professional development for classroom teams, with a focus on quality and compliance across Head Start/Early Head

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor degree and two years relevant experience.
• Experience with infants/toddlers and/or preschool
• Proven supervision and staff training experience
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff and families
• Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Manager, Education and Inclusion and Program Director to assess staff and needs.
• Align teacher practices with school readiness objectives and development approaches.
• Provide intensive coaching with observation, feedback and modeling.
• Offer other professional development aligned with program goals.
• Develop policies to support staff improvement without punitive actions.
• Maintain communication with Program Director and other staff.
• Ensure classrooms have required materials and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Attend home visits, conferences and IEP/IFSP meetings when requested.
• Observe classrooms regularly and provide training, coaching and mentoring.
• Integrate PITC into curricula and support English language learners.
