Job summary

Save the Children US is seeking an Early Childhood and Development Coach to support Head Start and Early Head Start programs across the U.S. This role partners with the Manager, Education and Inclusion to provide technical assistance, coaching, and staff development to ensure high-quality education services.

The position emphasizes implementation of research-based curricula, staff training, and monitoring progress toward program objectives while upholding safeguarding standards and inclusive

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in early childhood education with teaching experience.
• Experience working with infants/toddlers or preschoolers.
• Supervision and training experience.
• Proven ability to develop relationships with very young children.
• Experience using assessment data to drive coaching.
• Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards.
• Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Assess education staff and identify strengths and coaching needs.
• Align teaching with school readiness objectives and curricula for professional development.
• Execute intensive coaching with observation, feedback, and modeling.
• Offer other forms of research-based professional development.
• Maintain positive communication among leadership and staff.
• Ensure classrooms have needed supplies and appropriate schedules.
• Attend home visits and IEP/IFSP meetings as requested.
• Visit classrooms regularly for observations and coaching.
• Develop PITC integration into the curriculum and family activities.
• Oversee child screenings, data collection, and local evaluation activities.
• Provide ongoing training on policies, procedures, and program requirements.
• Maintain safety and active supervision of children at all times.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
