Job summary

Ivy Kids is hiring an Assistant Teacher in Roswell, GA to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment. You will implement curriculum activities, supervise routines, monitor development, and maintain records while fostering positive social and emotional growth in children.

Responsibilities include ensuring health and safety standards, communicating with families, and assisting with classroom setup.

Qualifications

• The assistant teacher must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience.
• Previous work experience is preferred.
• Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
• The assistant teacher must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum activities and supervising daily classroom routines.
• Monitor developmental progress and maintain accurate records.
• Foster positive social and emotional growth through developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing standards, health and safety procedures, and company policies while building relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Under the direction of the lead teacher, help establish developmentally appropriate room arrangement, decor and learning environments.
• Provide daily communication to parents and assist with bulletin boards.
• Observe, record, and report significant behavior to the director; participate in center events and staff trainings.
• May be required to work after hours or weekends for center events or trainings.
