UMCCC is seeking a part-time Assistant Teacher for our Waddler/Toddler rooms. The role involves supporting teachers and the director in creating a caring, safe environment for children, assisting with activities to enhance care and education quality. The Assistant Teacher should communicate effectively, work well in a team, and help implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under supervision.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with colleagues and being a team player.
  2. Assisting in implementing curriculum activities and encouraging children's participation.
  3. Engaging actively in activities and managing classroom materials.
  4. Promoting self-help skills and good hygiene through modeling.
  5. Facilitating smooth transitions from home to childcare.
  6. Following all policies and regulations.
  7. Attending staff meetings and training sessions.

Minimum requirements:

  • High energy and patience.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Flexibility regarding classroom placement and hours.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • Clearance of background checks and health screening.
  • Completion of 24 hours of online training within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
