Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle seeks an early-career engineer to support the design, analysis, and testing of spacecraft thermal control systems. You will work with experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience with passive and active thermal hardware, CAD modeling, and thermal analysis.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and contributing to safe and repeatable space flight, with opportunities to participate in design reviews, documentation, and hardware integration across programs.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2027.
  • Coursework or project experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, or fluid mechanics.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or similar).
  • Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, fabrication, and testing of thermal control hardware.
  • Assist with thermal analysis using hand calculations and analysis software.
  • Support integration and test activities for thermal hardware.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
  • Contribute to hardware assembly and testing efforts.
  • Learn and apply thermal engineering principles to spacecraft applications.
